Medicare Supplements, also known as Medigap plans, are optional insurance policies that help pay for out-of-pocket costs associated with Original Medicare. Original Medicare covers a large portion of your medical expenses, but it doesn’t cover everything. You might have to pay deductibles, coinsurance (a percentage of the bill), and copays (fixed fees for certain services).

Medigap plans help bridge this gap by covering some or all of these additional costs. There are different Medigap plans available, each with its own set of benefits. Some plans might just cover your deductibles, while others might cover coinsurance and copays as well. The price of the plan will vary depending on the coverage it offers, your age, location, and health status.

If you’re considering enrolling in Medicare and want more comprehensive coverage, a supplemental plan might be a good option for you. However, it’s important to shop around and compare different plans to find one that fits your needs and budget. Let us help you find the right choice for you.

Medicare Advantage plans are an alternative way to receive your Medicare benefits. Instead of Original Medicare with a separate supplemental plan, Advantage plans bundle Parts A (hospital insurance) and B (medical insurance) into a single plan offered by private insurance companies. These plans often include additional benefits not covered by Original Medicare, such as vision, dental, or hearing services.

Many Advantage plans also have features like prescription drug coverage (Part D), wellness programs, and networks of preferred doctors and hospitals. You’ll typically need to use these in-network providers to receive the most coverage, although some plans offer limited out-of-network benefits.

While Advantage plans can be appealing for their simplicity and additional benefits, there may be drawbacks. Costs can vary depending on the plan and your chosen network. You may also face limitations on doctor choice and prior authorization requirements for certain services.

If you’re looking for a more comprehensive and potentially more affordable option, an Advantage plan might be a good fit. However, it’s crucial to carefully consider your healthcare needs, preferred doctors, and budget before enrolling. We can help you find your best options.

Medicare Part D is an optional prescription drug benefit program available to people with Original Medicare (Parts A & B). It helps cover the costs of your medications, but it doesn’t work exactly like traditional health insurance. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Stand-alone Plans: These are separate insurance policies you purchase from private companies to cover your prescriptions.
  • Medicare Advantage Plans with Part D: Some Medicare Advantage plans (bundled Part A & B coverage) also include prescription drug coverage.

How it Works: Once enrolled in a Part D plan, you’ll typically follow a four-stage system:

  1. Deductible: This is the initial amount you pay for covered medications before the plan starts sharing costs.
  2. Initial Coverage: After meeting the deductible, you’ll pay a copayment or coinsurance for each covered drug.
  3. Coverage Gap (Donut Hole): This is a temporary period where your plan might offer limited coverage for medications. You’ll likely pay a higher percentage of the drug costs during this time.
  4. Catastrophic Coverage: Once you reach a specific out-of-pocket spending threshold in the coverage gap, the plan resumes significant cost-sharing for your medications.

Benefits and Considerations: Part D plans can significantly reduce your prescription drug costs. However, premiums, deductibles, and coverage details vary depending on the plan you choose. It’s important to compare plans and medications to find one that best fits your needs and budget. Remember, enrollment periods are specific, so let us help research and choose your plan carefully.

Final Expense insurance is a type of life insurance that helps seniors cover end-of-life bills, such as funeral expenses and healthcare.

If you don’t have a final expense life insurance plan in place for the ones that you care for the most, your loved ones will unfortunately be left with the responsibility of paying any remaining expenses. Funeral costs are expensive, and there are probably more costs than you were aware of.

These plans are surprisingly affordable! Many times, you can at minimum get some type of coverage for over a dollar a day. It’s important to make sure you have something in place, not for yourself, but for those that you love.

Cancer, Heart Attack, and Stroke are major health threats, impacting millions each year. While a healthy lifestyle can mitigate risks, these conditions can strike anyone, anytime. Critical care plans offer a financial safety net in the face of these medical emergencies.

  • Financial Protection: Treatment for critical illnesses can be incredibly expensive, potentially jeopardizing your financial stability. Critical care plans provide a lump sum cash benefit upon diagnosis, helping you manage medical bills, lost wages, and other unexpected costs.

  • Peace of Mind: A critical care plan can alleviate the financial burden associated with critical illness, allowing you to focus on recovery without worrying about mounting medical bills or neglected financial obligations.

  • Flexibility in Treatment: The cash benefit from a critical care plan is yours to use as needed. This flexibility allows you to prioritize your well-being by choosing the best treatment options without financial limitations hindering your choices.

  • Coverage Options: Critical care plans offer customizable coverage. You can choose a plan that covers a specific illness like cancer, or a more comprehensive plan that protects you against all three: cancer, heart attack, and stroke.

By planning ahead with a critical care plan, you can safeguard your financial security and ensure peace of mind in the face of a critical illness diagnosis.

Original Medicare offers a foundation for healthcare coverage, but it often falls short in covering routine Dental, Vision, and Hearing needs. Here’s where Dental, Vision & Hearing (DVH) plans come in:

Filling the Gaps: Original Medicare prioritizes medically necessary dental and vision care, leaving routine checkups, cleanings, fillings, and eyeglasses out of pocket. DVH plans bridge this gap, offering coverage for these essential services, promoting overall health and well-being.

Affordability: Compared to managing individual dental, vision, and hearing bills, DVH plans offer a cost-effective solution. You’ll pay a low monthly premium for comprehensive coverage, helping you budget for preventive care and unexpected needs.

Freedom of Choice: Many DVH plans offer networks of dentists, optometrists, and audiologists, allowing you to choose a provider that suits your needs. Additionally, some plans let you use any licensed provider, often with reduced benefits.

Enhanced Vision Coverage: Original Medicare’s limited vision coverage restricts you to basic eyeglasses following cataract surgery. DVH plans provide regular eye exams, contact lenses, and a wider selection of frames, promoting good eye health and clear vision.

Improved Hearing Care: Original Medicare only covers specific hearing tests with limited financial assistance. DVH plans often offer discounts or coverage towards hearing aids, a significant cost-saving advantage.

Peace of Mind: DVH plans provide peace of mind knowing you have proactive care covered. Regular checkups and preventive care can prevent more serious and expensive issues down the road.

By choosing a DVH plan, you’ll enjoy comprehensive coverage, enhanced healthcare options, and significant cost savings compared to relying solely on Original Medicare. It’s a wise investment in your overall health and well-being.
